Ranitidine Update

The Department of Health and Social Care has sent doctors and pharmacists an alert to say there is unlikely to be any ranitidine tablets or liquid available soon.

This is because some products in the UK were found to contain an impurity and all those affected are no longer available until further notice.

Keep taking your medicine as usual, or keep giving it to your child if their doctor has prescribed it.

You do not need to see or phone your doctor until your next prescription for ranitidine is due, however if they decide that you need to continue treatment it is likely that they will need to change to a different medicine.

If you have any concerns, please speak to your pharmacist or to the pharmacy team at the surgery.
